Goleta Water Rates May Go Up
Rates for Goleta Water District customers may go up depending on the results of a service study, which will be presented to the public on 1/25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Goleta Union School District board room. “The whole process is open and public and very informative for people who are interested in learning about their district,” said Boardmember Lauren Hanson, who said that the last rate study was conducted in 2006. In other district news, longtime Boardmember Larry Mills officially announced his resignation last week, and the board was set to decide on Wednesday night—past The Independent’s deadline—whether to appoint a new member or to wait until the next election cycle in two years; they were expected to opt for the former route.
