Nava Pulls in More Cash Than Gandrud in Assembly Race
Raises $165,000 to Date, While Opponent Has Accumulated $1,767
State Assembly member Pedro Nava had raised slightly more than $165,000 as of the July 1 deadline for reporting campaign contributions, while his Republican rival Greg Gandrud – a former councilmember from Carpinteria and the head of the Republican Central Committee – had raised only $1,767. Should Nava be re-elected, he will not be allowed to run again under the state’s term limits law. He’s making noises about running for attorney general while Nava’s wife, environmental activist Susan Jordan, has been tagged as his anointed successor.
