Behind the Wheel at SBMA

You never know what you are going to find out when you put something on the wall. At least that’s what the curators at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art felt when they received an email last week from a man who had attended their recently opened exhibition of photographs involving the automobile, Behind the Wheel. His father, who is still alive, had been a member of the car club Los Vagabundos, and when he was shown this photograph that’s hanging in SBMA now, he could name everyone in the picture. Behind the Wheel is on view through August 12 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (1130 State St., 963-4364, sbma.net).
