Experience a stirring evening of orchestral brilliance as the UCSB Chamber Orchestra presents its fall concert on December 2, 2024, at 7:30 PM in the Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. Under the baton of Dr. Maxim Kuzin, the orchestra will perform an exhilarating program featuring masterpieces by Wagner, Dvořák, and Schubert.
The concert opens with Richard Wagner’s dramatic Concert Overture No. 1 in D minor, showcasing the early genius of a composer who would later revolutionize the operatic world. The program continues with the fourth of Antonín Dvořák’s Legends, Op. 59, originally composed for piano duet and richly orchestrated to evoke the spirit of Bohemian folklore. The evening culminates with Franz Schubert’s profound Symphony No. 4 in C minor, “Tragic”, a work that balances youthful vigor with deep emotional resonance.
Join us for an unforgettable musical experience that promises to inspire and delight. We look forward to welcoming you to a night of artistry and passion performed by UCSB’s talented musicians.
