Rosin Sniffers Band

Dance to the delightful old time sounds of the Rosin Sniffers. The Rosin Sniffers are one of SLO’s local treasures, featuring Jim Mueller on fiddle, Amber Mueller on guitar, and Tom Wolverton on banjo and dobro.

The Caller is Chris Page, who will be calling many of the most fun and unusual dances that he has written. Chris has a knack for choosing dances that are both fun and satisfying, and he will keep the party rolling in fine fashion.

CONTRA DANCE: co-sponsored by the SB Park and Rec Department

  • Fun Spirited Social Dance
  • A live band and a caller
  • Playful and Enjoyable
  • No Partner Needed
  • Good for the body and brain
  • Easy for Beginners

Contra Dance is GREAT exercise while we are having great fun. It is also great memory training because every dance is different all night long. We are walked through a couple simple moves that repeat, we help each other, and the only goal is to have fun dancing!

The band takes a break in the middle. At the end of each half, we can dance a waltz. And during the break (with snacks), recorded music is played for East and West Coast swing dance, Country Dance, and more.

A short video of our last dance This was the first dance of the evening with over a dozen new dancers, they were paired with experienced dancers. It all works every week. Notice the 10-year-old doing great!
