Dorian Holley has crafted “A Love Letter To Marvin Gaye,” a two-hour, electrifying live musical retrospective celebrating the stellar career of The Prince of Motown. This extraordinary show includes a faithful, spot-on rendition of the iconic “What’s Going On” album, performed from start to finish, each song flowing seamlessly into the next, just as we first experienced it 50 years ago. The performance also spans the breadth of Gaye’s unparalleled career, featuring his early Hitsville chart-toppers, enchanting duets, sultry slow jams, and energetic dance hits.

Performed 22 times to capacity crowds across the country, this show features a brilliant 15-piece ensemble, including brass, strings, and layered vocals reminiscent of Marvin’s original style. It’s not a reinterpretation but a masterful reproduction!
Dorian Holley’s unique voice, timbre, and style closely resemble Gaye’s, transporting audiences back to the era of long-playing vinyl, stereos, and liner notes. Enhancing Dorian’s vocal and performance impact, he served as Vocal Director for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour, was a featured vocalist on all of Jackson’s solo tours for 27 years, is now a member of James Taylor’s All-Star Band, and has toured with Coldplay, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, Don Henley, Lionel Richie, Linda Ronstadt, and Jimmy Vaughn.
“My friend and bandmate, Dorian Holley is known as the singer’s singer. His interpretation of Marvin Gaye’s legacy is NOT to be missed. You can experience this unique musical event at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara this August 23rd. Do yourself and your date a solid and BE THERE…” – James Taylor
