The UCSB Percussion Ensemble presents mostly “minimalist” music in a program featuring composers Steve Reich, Bret William Dietz, Ivan Trevino, Nigel Westlake, Marc Mellits, Paul Smadbeck, UCSB student Leah Graafs, and others. Performances range from solo marimba (the minimum) to percussion octet (the maximum), and other configurations between. Jon Nathan directs this varied and fun exploration of modern chamber music for percussion.
