You are invited to a Santa Barbara Audubon first: A night of bird fiction! Join us for an evening of short stories about birders and the birds that fuel their passion, from the creative mind of Santa Barbara’s esteemed bird columnist Hugh Ranson. His recent work focuses on finding new ways to write about the lives of birders, their relationships with one another, and the creatures that send them out into the field on those wild chases.
Hugh Ranson was born in England and lived in Wales before coming to California in 1981. Ranson currently writes “Santa Barbara Birding,” a monthly bird article for the Santa Barbara Independent.
