UCSB Ice Hockey Presents 2024 Senior Night

UCSB Ice Hockey will be celebrating its Senior Night this Friday, February 2 2024 at 5:30 p.m at the Ice in Paradise, hosting the rival Cal State Northridge Matadors.

The Gauchos will play in front of their home crowd one last time this season before embarking on their playoff campaign in Santa Clarita, CA the weekend of February 8-11.

The Gauchos take on the Matadors for the first time this season, after two narrow defeats last season which saw the Gauchos finish second in the division behind the Matadors, securing them promotion at the expense of the Gauchos.

College hockey scouts and analysts alike anticipate a game-of-the-season-type matchup between the Gauchos and Matadors, as the recent history of competitive matchups between the two teams, as well as similar results against like teams and closely-aligned ACHA rankings, suggest all signs point towards a can’t-miss game of hockey.

The Gauchos will be celebrating eight of their seniors before the game for their contributions to the program both on and off the ice. The seniors being celebrated are Fernando Sansone, Ryan Schmitz, Gannon Carroll, Nick Harris, Winston Shoemaker, Carter Chasson, Shawn Catudal, and Ryan Greenberg.
