The UCSB Corwin series presents a virtual masterclass with composers Isabel Urrutia and Jose Luis Campana. The composers give an inside look into their creative composition method, “World timbres mixture”.
ISABEL URRUTIA
She studied composition, piano and music pedagogy at the Bilbao Conservatory of Music. Her works have been performed in venues and at music festivals across Europe, America and Asia, including in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Korea, China, USA… at prestigious contemporary music events and concert halls.
José Luis Campana
A French-Argentinian composer. In receipt of a bursary from the French government, he decided to settle in Paris, where he completed his training as a composer (1979-1985) with Ivo Malec for composition, Betsy Jolas for analysis, and both Pierre Schaeffer and Guy Reibel for electroacoustic techniques.
