Lompoc Botanic & Horticultural Society Meeting

Our business meeting will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Shashika Hewavitharana, a plant pathologist who will discuss some of the most common plant diseases found in our gardens. Dr. Hewavitharana is currently an Assistant Professor in Plant Sciences and a Strawberry Pathologist with the Strawberry Center of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Her research program there focuses on integrated management of both current and emerging disease threats to California’s strawberry industry.

LVBHS is a nonprofit association and a member of California Garden Clubs Inc., the largest volunteer gardening organization in the state. Membership is open to the general public and activities are held throughout the year. Come meet like-minded people and learn more about plants!
