Learn the secrets of haute couture and examine the four 1957 dresses exhibited during the Ist Thursday Fashion Exhibition in Santa Barbara. During this fascinating and engaging one-hour gathering, you will discover the materials and methods used during the golden age of couture. You will learn about the techniques and materials used from four haute couture houses: Gres, Heim, Ricci, and Patou.
The Couture Pattern Museum’s Insider Series educates the public about the inner workings of a couture garment. Participants will walk away with the understanding that fashion is an art and that the craft of haute couture sewing is worth preserving and acknowledging.
During this one-hour gathering, you will discover the materials and methods that haute couture designers used that made their dresses so beautiful and sculptural during the golden age of couture.
You will learn about steel bones, corselettes, waist-stays, petticoats, and more!
There is free 75-minute parking at 730 Chapala Street. Then, meet inside the Workzones building at 351 Paseo Nuevo. $25.
