Bonnie Byrnes Rand

Bonnie Rand passed away peacefully on April 1st, in her home in Santa Barbara.

She is remembered by two children, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and all of her friends. She was nearly 90 years old, although she never would have told you her age.

Bonnie was a native Californian. Born in Los Angeles, then graduated from UCLA. She lived in Beverly Hills before moving to Montecito in 1986 with her husband, Jess Rand.

She was an artist of many mediums and most proud of her authored, illustrated, and published book, “Color Me Santa Barbara, A Pictorial History”.

Throughout her life, Bonnie was an ardent supporter of fine arts, working with museums, art galleries, and universities.

She loved playing tennis, pool, bridge, and other card games. But she did not like losing and seldom did. Last but not least, she loved her yorkies too. Bonnie will be missed by all who knew her.
