POSTING FROM UKRAINE: Dr. Tirej Brimo speaking at a Lviv train station where he and his medical team treat refugees arriving from the eastern region of the country. Trains arrive daily filled with dead and wounded casualties of the war and civilians fleeing from the constant bombardment by Russian troops. Brimo, himself a Kurdish refugee from Syria, was interviewed by Brian O’Dea and cinematographer Frank Vilaca, who are in Ukraine filming a documentary. They will be sending the Independent occasional dispatches from the war as conditions on the ground allow.
