Herman Francis Trabbic
Herm, after a short illness. died in Lakewood, CO on February 7, 2022 at the age of 81. Herm and Pat, his wife of 57 years, moved to the Maravilla Senior Living Community in Santa Barbara in 2014 to be close to their daughter, Kirsten, and son-in-law, Dustin, after living in Howard County, Maryland for fifty years. Five years later, at their urging, they followed Dustin and Kirsten to the Denver area when they made career changes.
After successful careers in Information Technology, Human Resources and Administration, and as an independent consultant specializing in Leadership development and Organizational Development, Herm’s last career in Maryland was as a hospital staff chaplain and member of the Palliative Care team. After moving to Santa Barbara, he quickly began volunteering with the Alliance for Living and Dying Well. Motivated by his hospital experiences with death and dying, he became certified as an Advanced Care Planner and conducted numerous workshops on Advanced Care Planning and Advanced Care Directives for The Alliance and Sansom Clinic.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his daughters Kirsten Olson (Dustin), Denver, CO and Jennifer Haile (Wonwossen), Milan Italy. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Hicks (Bob), Winter Park, FL and Shirley Miller (Hal), Richmond, VA and brother-in-law, John Wozny (Mary Ellen), Coolville, OH.
