7th Annual Tri-Brewery Volksmarch and Canned Food Drive
(Carpinteria, CA) — Island Brewing Company, Rincon Brewery, BrewLAB, and Apiary are again teaming up for the 7th Annual Tri-Brewery Volksmarch and Canned Food Drive. The idea is simple: embrace the old German tradition of the ‘Volksmarch’, or people walk and hike a 2.3-mile route from brewery to brewery to brewery to support our local Foodbank of Santa Barbara County while promoting fitness, fun, and fellowship.
The walk starts Sunday, November 14, at 1:00 pm at Island Brewing Company, with registration starting at 12:30. The entry fee is a donation of at least two cans of food, after which the participants will receive passports that will be stamped at each brewery. The route is mostly flat on paved roads or sidewalks and travels through downtown Carpinteria. All breweries will have beer for purchase. This year the route will vary; walkers may choose which brewery to visit first. Some may opt to head to BrewLAB and the Apiary, while others head to Rincon Brewery. The final leg takes participants back to Island Brewing Company where they will receive the highly coveted commemorative medal for finishers.
