Espionage and the Common Good – Part IV
Sunday, November 14, 2021
Looking at a variety of sources spanning the globe and the ages, this series will consider the role of covert theory and practice in securing the common good. Readings will include classics such as Sun Tzu’s Art of War, Machiavelli’s Prince and Discourses. As a principal text, Fair Play: The Moral Dilemmas of Spying, will provide historical and philosophical insight as well as a series of real-life scenarios that test permissible actions, questioning the extent to which “the end justifies the means.”
