Medicine of Yum is a new Culinary Medicine virtual teaching kitchen that was founded by Dr. Erin Presant, DO, a board-certified Neurologist and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist. Culinary Medicine is a new field of medicine that intersects traditional medicine, nutrition, and public health. It focuses on helping people make evidence-based lifestyle changes with expert support and guidance.

What’s in the course?
Six, live, online classes taught by Dr. Erin Presant, DO and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist. Full of evidence-based info and guidance for your lifestyle and needs. Each week includes discussion and hands-on training, with cooking in your own kitchen, and a Q&A following each class for added personalization.
WEEK ONE | Mastering the Basics
Cooking principles and adaptations, kitchen skills for faster prep, safety info, getting to know your veggies, expanding your palate, and guidance on sifting through conventional “wisdom” on BMI, caloric intake, and binary thinking about foods.
WEEK TWO | Pantry Principles
Pantry staples and substitutions, plug and play recipe formulas, building a sustainable morning practice, and removing barriers to success.
WEEK THREE | Snack Attack: on Mindfulness
Cultivating mindfulness during food prep and mealtime (even with distractions), building an attainable meal plan, shifting shopping habits, decoding nutritional information, and optimizing snack choices.
WEEK FOUR | Mythbusters
Seeing through marketing BS around health and dieting, moderation and nuance in eating, fad diets, and examining the evidence on different approaches to eating.
WEEK FIVE | Fat is not a four-letter word
Incorporating the best fats into your diet to be healthier, learning to listen to your body, up-leveling your meals using savvy substitutions, and how your body processes different kinds of food.
WEEK SIX | Power Weeks: Smarter, not Harder
Choosing and adapting recipes to work for YOU, meal prep as a superpower, recipe formulas, building flavor, and how to schedule meals to make your week better.
