Are you a veteran who is transitioning to a civilian job or looking for a new one? This workshop is for you and will help you explain your military experience in a way that demonstrates your leadership, skills, and experience in ways a civilian workforce can understand.
As someone with military experience, you know what you can do and that you have a unique and broad skill set, but how do you translate that to civilian/corporate speak? This workshop will help you convert military to civilian terms, gain tips on avoiding or translating acronyms, and figure out how to articulate what you did in the military and how it can relate to the job you are applying for.

Santa Barbara County Veteran Service Officer, Joseph Fletcher, will be leading this workshop. As a veteran himself he has not only gone through this himself, but in his current job, has helped other veterans through the process.
Attendees will also learn about veteran and job resources available through the library, like JobNow and VetNow.
