Come join our free workshops and learn how to screen print!

We invite you to experience the inherently therapeutic nature of screen printing in an empowering, supportive and fun environment. These workshops are open to sexual assault or interpersonal violence survivors, as well as partners, family members, and close friends. After a short introduction, we will guide you through making your own design and turning it into a screen printed poster to take home with you. All materials and snacks will be provided!

The workshops are limited to 6 participants. No previous art experience is necessary. Participants must be 18 years or older and must pre-register to attend. Your registration will be confirmed by one of the artists prior to each workshop. PLEASE NOTE: Your personal information is confidential and will not be shared, we will not ask you to share your personal story.

Artwork created in the workshops will be displayed anonymously in an exhibition at Grey Space, May 8-24, 2020, with a private party for you and our supporters.

‘Sexual Assault’ describes any sexual contact, whether physical, verbal, or visual, that occurs without consent.

‘Interpersonal Violence’ describes the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against a person or group that results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation.

Print Power is a collective of four teaching artists who endeavour to empower people of all ages through printmaking. Together, we can use the power of print to change the culture. While we are working closely with Domestic Violence Solutions (DVS), we are not art therapists or counsellors.

Funding support was provided by the City of Santa Barbara’s Community Arts Grant Program.
