The Center for Cold War and International Studies at UC Santa Barbara presents a free film screening on Monday, February 3, at 7:00pm in HSSB 6020 (Humanities and Social Sciences Building) on the UCSB campus.
Seventy years ago this February, Senator Joseph R. McCarthy launched his destructive anticommunist rampage. This riveting PBS documentary, directed by Sharon Grimberg, chronicles the demagogue’s extraordinary rise and fall. After the screening, Professor Salim Yaqub of the UCSB Department of History will lead an audience discussion.
Refreshments will be served.
