HURRICANES AND SWAN SONGS– A Strange Anthology
WEBB, SILVER
TUESDAY, MAY 7, 2019 at 7:00 pm
Please join us at Chaucer’s Books on Tuesday evening, May 7th at 7:00 pm to enjoy a reading by four contributors to Hurricanes & Swan Songs– A Strange Anthology, presented by Silver Webb. The evening promises to be a great literary delight!
There is a bar that you know, where nobody knows your name, a place of unlikely happenings, strange tales, strong drinks. Was it Barry’s? Perhaps Gary’s. Harry’s, Larry’s…. Does it really matter which? One thing is certain. Enter its doors and you step into another dimension. Silver Webb presents twelve’s stories about love, loss, and mayonnaise. Cockroaches, spliffs, and purgatory. Ghosts, both murderous and helpful, psychokinetic battles, and even a blind date among widowers and a not-so-blind date with Hemingway.
Nicholas Deitch has been published in the London literary journal, Litro, and is currently writing his first novel, Death and Life in the City of Dreams, a story about a dying city and those who struggle to save it.
Max Talley is the author of Yesterday We Forget Tomorrow. Talley’s fiction and essays have appeared in the Del Sol Review, Fiction Southeast, Gravel, Hofstra University- Windmill, Bridge Eight, Litro Magazine, and The Opiate, among others.
Silver Webb is the “editrix” of the Santa Barbara Literary Journal and author of the forthcoming A Pinch of Cloves, and a food writer for Food & Home.
Dennis Russell is the author of That Fourth of July and Surfer Songs. He is also a singer-songwriter with five albums, including My Little World, Golden and 7 of Townes.
