Motility: to be flexible and maneuverable
Four Santa Barbara artists will transport you into the world of abstract art, expressing various degrees of abstraction with very diverse styles and media.
Tom Post’s large-scale oil paintings on canvas are non-objective, but have elements that imply personal or universal relationships.
Brad Nack exhibits large canvases that are both serious and whimsical, often at the same time.
Rick Doehring shows non-objective abstracts that romp across the canvas, some suggest a narrative, others a visceral memory or emotion.
Douglas Dafoe, a master craftsman in woodworking, turned his artistic eye and skills to fine art. His work explores a midcentury modern aesthetic, as well as ancient Asian and Mayan designs.
Meet the artists at the reception on Friday, May 17 and hear them speak about their work at the 6pm artist talk.
