Henry Peter Romero

Henry Peter Romero passed away December 13, 2008. Henry was born June 29, 1930 in Santa Barbara to Antonia Membrila and Faustino Romero. He married Gurdi G. Graedtke in March of 1976 and in August of that year became a father to their only child Henry (Hank) Emil Romero. Upon separation from his wife the following year, Henry raised his son at 801 Olive Street Apt #A where he lived for 15 years.

Although he only went as far as the 2nd grade as a child, he supplemented his education with night classes at Santa Barbara City College much later in life. He owned his own gardening business in Santa Barbara until he was physically unable to work. Henry was a beloved resident of Garden Court and Senior Living Concepts.

Henry is survived by his son Hank, his sister Ester, and other numerous family members. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday January 3rd 2009, at Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapel, 15 E Sola Street. Afterward, the ashes will be scattered at sea.
