Kay Cammer
Kay Cammer, 93, of Santa Barbara, passed away on Sunday, January 11th, 2009 at Serenity House in Santa Barbara. Catherine was born on February 3rd, 1915 in Hartford, Connecticut and lived for many years in Brooklyn, New York.
She married Charles Cammer and with Charles raised four children. In 1948, Catherine, Charles and two sons moved to Santa Barbara where she lived the remainder of her life.
Catherine was a mother, housewife, published poet, prolific writer of letters-to-the-editor, and a close friend to many. For about 20 years, she created and sold crocheted hats at the Domingo Arts & Crafts Show on Cabrillo Blvd.
Catherine is survived by her four children; daughter Ruth, sons Les, Paul and Barry, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Bethany Congregational Church at 556 N. Hope Avenue, Santa Barbara with Rev. Anthony Chaboya officiating. Arrangements are in the care of McDermott-Crockett Mortuary.
