William ‘Billy’ Joseph Martin

William ‘Billy’ Joseph Martin, born on May 30, 1941 in Tonopah, NV,passed away at age 77 on November 19, 2018. Born to Ellen Ford and William Keith Martin, both deceased, he moved to Santa Barbara at the age of one. He attended La Cumbre Junior High and Santa Barbara High School. He was an employee at Western Union until retiring in 1997 and an employee at UPS until retiring in 2014. William was married to his best friend, Marilyn Patricia Criswell for over 53 years. They enjoyed their family and working on projects together including their tireless efforts maintaining Stevens Road. Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Rene, Joyce, Netta, and Shirley. Bill is survived by his daughters, Carrie Lynn Budge and Lisa Renee Martin; sister, Diana Garner; and grandchildren, Jeffrey and Aaron. Bill was an avid storyteller with an infectious laugh. He provided years of support to those struggling with addiction and was a great friend to many. He will be remembered by all those touched by his generosity and love.
