Anna Matan

Anna passed away peacefully on the sunny afternoon of October 19, 2018. Anna was the daughter of Matt and Rose Matan; born in Pittsburgh; she is survived by several nieces and a handful of friends who were as close as family. Anna moved to Santa Barbara in 1954 with her late ex husband Mischa Gross, Anna worked as a secretary in his antique business. In 1956 Anna settled on the Mesa where she remained until her passing at the age of 93. Anna was well known to many who rode the MTD as it was always her primary mode of transportation, she utilized the public library on a weekly basis, and made friends just about everywhere she went. Anna was easy to talk to and remember as she was always done up in a dress, heels, hat and silver cat pin.

A gathering in her honor will be held at Andersen’s Danish Bakery on Saturday November 10 from 3-5. All friends are invited.
