Jason Benet
March 17, 1956 – May 18, 2009
This May 18th is the third year anniversary of the death of Jason Benet, a long time resident of Santa Barbara where he was a painter, carpenter, contractor and a swing-dance teacher. Jason was born and raised in San Francisco where from a young age he showed prodigious intellectual, artistic and physical energy.
Jason also lived in San Diego and then Kingman and Chino Valley, Arizona where he continued contracting and building homes for people while starting an acupuncture business with his partner Lara.
Jason died in 2009 after a determined health campaign against cancer over a three-year period. He was brave like an Arthurian knight and his death has deeply saddened many who knew him. He is remembered and loved by his sister Linda Benet, his life companion Lara Beneshan, other family members, many of his close buddies and friends, working colleagues, his many patients and clients, his own caregivers and hospice professionals.
If one wishes — please send any memorial donations to the Kingman Regional Medical Center Hospice Foundation, 812 Airway Avenue, Kingman, AZ 86409. Specify “For Hospice” and include Jason Benet’s name.
