Richard Allen Thomas, V

04/01/1972 – 03/29/2012

Son, brother, uncle, nature lover & hiker are but a few of the words that described who Richard Allen Thomas V (Rick or Ricky as he was affectionately known) was. However, volumes of written words couldn’t begin to tell of the beautiful soul that he was.

His talents excelled as a musician, writer, story teller, chef and in many other areas of life. He took great pleasure in sharing these gifts with others.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, he attended school locally graduating from SBHS in 1990. He took great pride in playing football and winning CIF that year. He continued his studies at SBCC.

He leaves us all stunned and bewildered as to why such a talented and loving individual left us so soon. Yet, he will never really leave us, as his memory will live on in the minds and hearts of those who loved him.

Rick leaves his mother, Jo-Ann McClelland, father Richard, Sr., siblings Tammie DiSandro, Brittany McClelland, Jamil & Amir Thomas; & nephew Aaron DiSandro. Rick will be dearly missed and the memory of him will be cherished always. We mourn his departure but give thanks for the fact that we were privileged and blessed to have shared this life with him

The sun will rise, and the sun will set. Sweet ocean tides will rush in and recede. Seconds will turn into minutes, hours, days, weeks and years. But your memory and the love that we have for you will never fade. When hearts feel heaviest and unwilling to beat another beat… we will turn to the crystal clear memory of your hearty laugh, and we will find the strength to carry on.
