Robert Joseph Gangl

March 26, 1929 – March 9, 2010

Robert J Gangl was born in St Paul MN. Moved his family to Santa Barbara in 1964, where he built and ran the De Anza Cocktail Lounge in Montecito, now known as Peabody’s. In 1976 he moved to Pioneer, CA and opened a dinner house in the historic Inspiration Lodge in the Sierra Mountains. He and his wife Carmen retired to Baja, CA in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen, sons Robert and Christopher, daughters Stephanie and Leslie, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, daughters-in-law Tamie and Felicia, son-in-law Howard Howe, brother Dennis, sisters Teresa, Elizabeth and Marie.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled in Jackson, CA.
