Mary Edna Vincent
Mary Edna Vincent was born in Louisville KY, on Sept. 17th 1916. She died in Santa Barbara California, on Feb. 8th, 2008. She is survived by her 4 children, Alice Vincent, Janice Livesey, Susan Vincent, and Chris Vincent. She’s also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mary Vincent majored in chemistry and received a MS from the University of Louisville. She worked as a laboratory technician at the Louisville General Hospital where she met her future husband, Dr. Edward Vincent. They moved to Colorado Springs in the late 1940’s where they raised their 4 children. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time at her mountain cabin. She and her husband moved to Santa Barbara California in 1975, where she continued to garden, sew and travel. She also joined the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens Guild, which she supported with her creativity for over 25 years. Always a sci-fi fan, if she didn’t make it to Mars in person, then she certainly did in spirit.
A memorial service will be held at the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens at 10am, Saturday, May 24th. 805-705-6493 for more details.
