HOSTS WITH THE MOST
The Carpinteria Valley Arts Center needs volunteers to work as hosts at its 855 at the Arts Center gallery. Shifts are for three hours (10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1- 4 p.m.) Friday through Monday. Interested parties are asked to call the center at 684-7789 for additional information or to sign up.
CALLING ALL CINEPHILES
The annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival submission process officially started up on Tuesday, July1, in a number of categories. Early bird submissions will be accepted through August 15, with entrance fees increasing monthly as the festival draws closer. Filmmakers interested in submitting should visit sbfilmfestival.org for details and withoutabox.com to submit.
BEE CAUSE
On Thursday, July 10, the Montecito Public Library (1469 East Valley Rd.) will host Santa Barbara beekeeper Jody Thomas as she talks about the uses and importance of the honeybee in our environment, and demonstrates how honey is extracted from the hive.
