SoCal Business Leader Dies While Surfing
Lee Kent Harrington, a longtime South Coast business leader, died on 2/4 while surfing at Hollister Ranch’s St. Augustine Beach. According to authorities, friends saw Harrington, 64, unconscious on his surfboard and pulled him to shore. Emergency crews were called but were unable to revive him. There were no signs of traumatic injury or foul play, said a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, and the County Coroner’s Office is in the midst of its investigation. Harrington was the executive director of the Southern California Leadership Council in Los Angeles and had been president and CEO of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation.
