Coastal Commission Voting on Fate of Goleta Beach Rock Wall
The California Coastal Commission will vote on the fate of the Goleta Beach rock wall at its May 13 meeting in Santa Barbara. In documents released ahead of the hearing, staff recommended that the commission follow the Board of Supervisors’ March 2014 lead in voting to keep the 1,200 feet of rocks in place. Staff suggested limiting the approval to no longer than a 20-year term before reassessing and analyzing for any possible effects after a decade. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors hearing room at the County Administration Building at 105 E. Anapamu Street.
