County Departments Shifted Around

The Santa Barbara County Information Technology Department will be folded back under the county’s General Services Department after a 3-2 vote from the Board of Supervisors on 5/25. The move will save the county $968,000 in the short-term. The board also agreed to maintain the Housing and Community Development Department as its own entity, but to shift the responsibility of the County Redevelopment Agency to the Planning and Development Department. That move came after 5th District Supervisor Joe Centeno made a pitch to not make any changes, but he found no support.
