It’s Elementary

A year of 50 “Acts of Kindness” has Montessori Center School students rendering assistance at nonprofits near and far. Their work formed the topic of last week’s Kids’ Issue, and had the added benefit of the joy of collaboration. The Indy’s Emily Cosentino and Marianne Kuga (the tall ones in the back left and center) loved getting to know the students in Cydney Miller’s class of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. “The kids were really the stars of the issue,” said Cosentino. “Their positive energy was contagious.” Even the much-loved class mascot Echo the Gecko was integrated into the design, Kuga noted happily. She called both the process and the finished product “my favorite project since I’ve been at The Independent.”
