Free Flu Shots in Goleta and Lompoc
The county’s Public Health Department is teaming up with the county’s Medical Reserve Corps — with the federal Centers for Disease Control’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program picking up the tab — to offer free flu shots at clinics in Goleta and Lompoc this week. The vaccine will be available for those aged three and older, and the nasal spray will be available for residents between the ages of 2 and 49.
In Goleta, the service will be provided on Wednesday, 12/3 from 3-7 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center at 5679 Hollister Avenue. In Lompoc, people can head over to the Fire Station at 115 South G Street on Saturday, 12/6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“An annual flu vaccination is the best way to prevent the flu and the flu-related complications that could lead to hospitalization and even death,” said Public Health spokesperson Susan Klein-Rothschild. “Health experts across the country recommend that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine.”
