Nonprofit Dolphin Activist Group Hosts On-Board Fundraiser; Volunteers Needed for Earth Day Celebration
• This Sunday, April 10, the Santa Barbara nonprofit group Protect Our Dolphins will host POD Party, a fundraiser gala aboard the Condor Express featuring a dock party, harbor cruise, and dolphin watching in the S.B. Channel. Proceeds from the event will benefit POD’s volunteer-run efforts to protect dolphins through research, education, and activism. The ship sets sail from Sea Landing in the S.B. Harbor (301 W. • The Community Environmental Council is seeking volunteers for its annual S.B. Earth Day Festival in Alameda Park on April 16-17. The organization needs helpers during the week preceding the event, as well as on both days of the festival, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks—including setting up and running the event, as well as post-festival breakdown/cleanup.
