The Flag
The Flag
What flag is this?
This flag we see
This flag that
Stands for liberty?
A symbol that
Where ‘ere unfurled,
Brings hope to millions
‘Round this world.
It holds three colors
The first is red
For all the precious
Blood’s been shed.
The other stripes
Of white, ensure,
A purity
We pray endures.
The field of blue
For you and me
Gives hope that ever
Our skies are free.
And on that field
Those stars of white
Will bring us hope
Both day and night.
So lift your eyes
And lift your hearts
Behold your flag
In all it’s parts.
A flag that to us
Freedom sings
A flag that gives
Our country wings.
To fly into
A future long
To face that future
Free and strong.
Come join with me
In brave salute
This flag where
Liberty took root.
