Mr. Kettmann writes glowingly of the Isla Vista experience in “The Death of Isla Vista.”

Question: If he were a parent, and if his family tree featured one or more ancestors badly harmed by the disease of alcoholism, would he send his child off to the Isla Vista culture given recent evidence of a genetic component to the disease?
