Campaign Treasurer Arrested for Mail Fraud

Kinde Durkee, Burbank-based campaign treasurer for Democrats throughout California, including the Santa Barbara County Democratic Central Committee, was arrested on charges of mail fraud on 9/2. The charges appear to all be connected to money Durkee allegedly transferred from Assemblymember Jose Solorio (D-Santa Ana) to her firm to make payroll and pay other expenses, including housing for her mother. Democratic Committee Chair Daraka Larimore-Hall said he hadn’t heard from anyone at Durkee’s firm nor from authorities, and said there was no reason to believe the local Dems had been swindled.
