Santa Babara attorneys Barry Cappello and Leila Noel won a $3.5 million lending discrimination verdict for 880 borrowers against Wells Fargo Bank after a three-month trial concluded last week in Los Angeles. The class action lawsuit alleged the bank discriminated against borrowers in minority neighborhoods. The jury found that race, color, ancestry, and/or national orgin was a motivating reason for the bank’s conduct against these people, who allegedly paid more for loans than borrowers in nonminority areas of Los Angeles County.
