Forrest Service Re-Opens Some Areas
On 10/3, the U.S. Forest Service reopened roughly 333,000 acres of the Los Padres National Forest that surrounded the Zaca Fire burn area. The reopening still leaves approximately 330,000 acres of land still closed, including most of the San Rafael Wilderness and all of the Dick Smith Wilderness. The burned area and some of the adjacent land will be closed through the rainy season, forest officials said.
