IT Company Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary

Latitude 34 Technologies, an IT company headquartered in Old Town Goleta, celebrated its five-year anniversary this week. Paul Avolio, who founded the company with his parents in their apartment, said it’s their commitment to area businesses that sets 34 Latitude apart from bigger competitors.

“We’re focused on the business market,” Avolio said. “Our customer service, our speed, and our being available 24/7 make us really different.”

34 Latitude has earned a number of awards over the years, including “Entrepreneur of the Year” from the Santa Barbara Technology and Industrial Association.

But don’t let all this talk of growth and success fool you: Avolio, a Santa Barbara local, said that his parents remain involved with the company, even though Latitude 34’s staff has grown to seven. “When I have to, I still go out on calls”.

Latitude’s commitment to customer service and small size have afforded them opportunities to meet their customers demands in ways that other companies can’t, Avolio went on, and they have no intention of straying far from that base.
