Fiesta is right around the corner, and this year, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Santa Barbara Fiesta. So, it’s time to have a really big party!
The Independent would love to hear from you about how you and your family, friends, and neighbors plan to celebrate. Will you be going to the parade, watching the performances on the courthouse lawn, organizing a potluck dinner for the neighborhood, dancing at a block party, getting out that cowboy hat for the rodeo, or maybe hosting a family gathering in the park? Let us know about it!
Don’t forget to tell us about any family recipes you have, and send in photos of Fiesta clothes you have, too! Not everybody has flamenco costumes in the closet, but there certainly are great-looking outfits on the streets of Santa Barbara during Fiesta.
From now through July 31, let us know the ways you’ll be celebrating Fiesta, and we will share them with our other readers to help everybody to get in the spirit of the party. With this, we can celebrate our whole wonderful community.
Share your Fiesta traditions — new and old — so we can all celebrate together!
