Wolf and Carbajal Pledge to Hold Farmworker Forum

Following pressure from CAUSE (Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy) for nearly a year, county supervisors Janet Wolf and Salud Carbajal pledged 10/18 to hold a forum in Santa Maria where farmworkers could discuss working conditions. CAUSE initially called on Board of Sueprvisors chair Peter Adam, who co-owns Adam Brothers Family Farms, to initiate a hearing, but he and the other supervisors had not done so. CAUSE received pushback from the agriculture industry and others who thought their portrayal of horrid working conditions in Santa Maria was painted with too broad of a brush.
