The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians will host the 21st Annual Chumash Inter-Tribal Pow-Wow at the Live Oak Campground from Saturday, Oct. 1 to Sunday, Oct. 2. The annual gathering welcomes tribes from across the nation to participate in dancing and drumming competitions and celebrate Native American cultures, and will feature Apache crown dancers and a champion hoop dancer among other acts. “It draws everybody back in,” says Tribal Administrator Willie Wyatt. “That’s how traditions are carried on, through social gathering, song, and dance.”
