Area singer/songwriter Conner Cherland recently released his debut album, Wanting Man, for free online(noisetrade.com/connercherland/wanting-man). The six-song record is brief, but the songs carry a disproportionate weight thanks to crafty lyrics and layers of sound. Cherland shows off impressive guitar chops, which he uses to alternate with his wholesome voice, and both are presented with a steadfast confidence and glimpses of pride, though not in excess.
