Last week, Sheriff Bill Brown was named First Vice President of the nonprofit California State Sheriffs’ Association by Gov. Jerry Brown. He was elected by Sheriffs from 58 California counties. Sheriff Brown, who previously served as Second Vice President, was first elected to the organization’s Sergeant-at-Arms officer position four years ago. “I look forward to helping advance public safety by participating in national and state conversations about challenges facing law enforcement and corrections today,” said Brown at the association’s Orange County annual meeting.
