With all the hatred, killing, and suffering in the world today, why do the “solutions” being suggested by our world leaders advocate “wiping out the bad people,” “destroying” the ones killing us, and many more similar concepts of “bringing Peace to the world.”
Our world I guess they mean. But what about the world of all the people? What if we spent more time on trying to understand the real reasons they have been attacking us, like exploring the question of “Why are you killing us?” What are we doing that brings you to such terrible events as the slaughter of innocent people?
I know many radical folks say, “It’s just they way they are. They want all of us dead and then they go to heaven as heroes.” But I would just like to see some group of peace-loving individuals explore the idea of asking, “What alteration in the West would make them be willing to back up and just live their lives and allow us to live ours?”
I wonder what words need to be spoken between us to find a common ground where killing is replaced with kindness, where hate is replaced with humanity, where fear is replaced with friendship.
I just would like to see an advocate to see if this place exists where life could go on with growth and evolution, and not fear and destruction of our species.
And wouldn’t it be far more constructive to all work together on the environmental issues to save the planet, rather than using our large brains to think of better ways to exterminate ourselves?
signed,
I hold out hope that maybe there is such a place to explore.
